Suzanne Strapp
Suzanne was one of the first two graduates of the first Audiology degree in Western Australia! She was self employed for 16 years in private practice and joined the Connect Team in 2008. Suzanne is passionate about what she does, “I have to admit my favourite thing to do is do is switch on a cochlear implant for the first time when a client has been living with profound hearing loss for years. I feel blessed to be able to make such a difference to people lives”. “It is lovely to know clients by name and to actually see how my work helps them to live fuller lives”. Suzanne’s top hearing tip is, “Wear your hearing aid as much as you can and if there is something you don’t like about it let your clinician know, it may be quite simple to rectify and we are always grateful for feedback.”Eimear Fay
Eimear has a speech pathology background and has worked in audiology since 2006. She has a passion for audiology and enjoys making a difference in people’s lives. “To improve communication for my clients young and old; to ensure they get the most out of life by being able to hear.” Eimear enjoys participating in her local community and appreciates the “good weather, good beaches and more importantly good wine!”
Eimear’s top hearing top tip is to “look after your ear health and protect your hearing from loud noises. When the time comes where you need amplification devices get fitted early – use it before you lose it.”
Grant Hayes
Grant is a Provisional Audiometrist in the South West of Western Australia and holds a B.Bus SOAA.He enjoys helping others improve their hearing, “It gives me immense gratification working with clients to overcome their hearing difficulties”.
Grant loves working in the local community, “I like being able to walk around Busselton saying hello to clients and feeling part of the community”.
Grant’s top hearing tip is, “When your family call your name, get eye contact and then start speaking, you pay them $1. When they start speaking when not looking at you and you have to ask for a repeat, they owe you $1. Your family will quickly learn to look at you when they speak to you.”
